What are umbral mods? ›

Umbra mods are acquired through the The Sacrifice quest (and can thereafter be reacquired via Cephalon Simaris). They are untransmutable and untradeable. All Umbra mods have the exclusive. polarity that can only be applied with an Umbra Forma. Visually, Umbra mods are Legendary mods with a set indicator.

Umbra mods are enhanced versions of existing mods, featuring the properties of both Primed mods and Set Mods, offering significantly improved stats over their base counterparts, and increasing their overall stats upon equipping more than one mod from the set.

If you can work around that, yeah, they are always better. If you have the capacity, the Umbral mods are stronger than their normal counterparts. Sometimes, you don't need/want them, so while the Umbral form is better, it might not be good enough compared to some other mod entirely.

Umbral mods can by purchased from Simaris if you've sold them. Simaris basically sells backups of most quest items if you accidentally sold them. But anything else that already has a vendor you just rebuy it from that vendor.

You automatically get umbra mods when you complete "the sacrifice" quest. They come packaged with excal umbra, I don't remember there being any other special requirement.

These Mods are acquired automatically at the end of the Quest “The Sacrifice.” They also come with a distinct Polarity type that requires rare Umbra Forma to Polarize on your Weapons and Warframes.

Tau Damage is a unique damage type which has no damage modifier against any health (including shields) or armor type. It is only dealt by Sentient enemies and cannot be used by the player. Tau Damage is not currently available on any weapon as an innate damage type and cannot be added through mods.

Seems like the best way to farm Augur Secrets is to play the level 30-50 Cetus Bounty. This requires Mastery Rank 3 or higher. The mission's 4th and 5th stages have a 2.20% and 5.41% chance of dropping respectively during Pool B (this refreshes every cycle or 2.5 hours).
